Dirty Dancing premieres on ABC

Johnny Castle and Baby Houseman are back for one night only, in a special three-hour event on ABC.

The filmed musical follows the storyline of "Dirty Dancing," the story we first fell in love with in 1987. Baby Houseman, a 17-year-old on vacation with her affluent family, meets the handsome Johnny Castle, a dance instructor at the Catskills Resort.

Baby falls in love with Johnny and nothing is ever the same in the Houseman family.

Abigail Breslin (Baby Houseman), Colt Prattes (Johnny Castle), Bruce Greenwood (Dr. Jake Houseman), Nicole Scherzinger (Penny), Debra Messing (Marjorie Houseman) and Sarah Hyland (Lisa Houseman) are just a few of the names in the stellar cast.

ABC promises all of the same romantic drama, but says the audience should expect a fresh perspective because, this time, they're "diving deeper into the iconic characters, showcasing their progression and tackling social themes like race, women's rights and the socio-economic division in the country at that time."

We'll also hear updated versions of the songs that still play on repeat in our heads when we hear the words "dirty dancing," "baby," and "Patrick Swayze." Yep. "Time of My Life" is back - and the dance is just as epic.

The musical will also feature "Love Man," "Do You Love Me," "Hungry Eyes," "She's Like the Wind," and a few well-known songs that are new to Dirty Dancing. Those songs are "Fever" and "They Can't Take That Away From Me."

You'll want to set your DVR for this one.

Dirty Dancing premieres Wednesday night at 8 p.m. on ABC
