Dehesa School will be closed through at least Tuesday for cleanup after last week's storms, a San Diego County spokesperson said.

The school, a 200-student campus just east of El Cajon that serves children kindergarten through eighth grade, sustained major flood damage to its buildings and grounds.
Dehesa plans to reopen the school as soon as possible, said Music Watson, of the San Diego County Office of Education. Watson added that the Dehesa district's several charter schools were not affected by the main
school's closure.
Four other schools in the East County were closed last week in the Mountain Empire Unified School District after receiving large amounts of rain and snow, making transportation difficult. It was unclear on Sunday whether
Mountain Empire Schools had reopened.
