An Orange County father told 10News his daughter's therapy dog was stolen in what was supposed to be a fun day at Belmont Park.
Peter Fullerton said the 6-month-old dog, Peanut, belonged to his daughter.
His daughter is a competitive gymnast, and when she broke her arm, her therapist suggested getting a small dog to help with recovery and regain her strength.
This weekend, Fullerton said he went to buy rollercoaster tickets with another parent keeping guard over the dog and the kids.
After he bought the tickets, he noticed the dog was gone.
"She's completely devastated. It's hard for her to even talk about it. She shakes and she cries. It's everything to her," Fullerton said.
Fullerton filed a police report and is hoping whoever took the dog returns it.
