SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A crepe stand at Horton Plaza mall in downtown San Diego was burned to the ground early Monday morning, and fire investigators are looking into the possibility the fire was set intentionally.
The fire was reported shortly before 4:30 a.m. on the ground level of the mall, near Broadway Circle, 10News learned.
Responding firefighters were able to douse the flames quickly, but the stand was completely destroyed. The charred stand filled the air with the smell of burning peanut butter.
Fire investigators and police are looking into the blaze as a possible arson.
No injuries were reported.
In late September, a hot dog stand also caught fire in the same area, and the owner told 10News he believed a transient set fire to his stand.
