SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A couple escaped serious injury after a fire ripped through the garage at their Encanto-area home early Wednesday morning.
The fire erupted at about 1 a.m. at a home in the 6200 block of Amesbury Street, fire officials said. The blaze began in or near the garage, 10News learned.
An elderly couple got out of the house as flames destroyed two cars in the driveway and garage.
Firefighters were able to knock down the fire before it spread to the home, but there was some unspecified damage caused to the house.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
