SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diegans can take part in passive activities at county beaches starting Tuesday.
San Diego County officials said sunbathing and relaxing with towels and chairs are allowed with members of the same household. Several recreational activities such as playing football or volleyball on the beach are prohibited at this time.
According to officials, parking lots and piers will remain closed for now.
Reopening of boardwalks is up to each coastal city, and as always, social distancing and facial coverings are the rule when near people who aren't a member of the household.
The lifting of some restrictions at local beaches comes as the number of reported coronavirus cases across the county has dropped below triple digits over the past two days.
