SAN DIEGO - Comic-Con International may use three buildings in Barrio Logan as its future headquarters.
The group that hosts the annual Comic-Con in San Diego purchased the buildings for roughly $6.3 million in 2015.
There was speculation the property ranged from a permanent Comic-Con museum to a simple investment. 10News wondered if it cemented the convention's place in San Diego beyond its 2018 contract.
Comic-Con spokesman David Glanzer emailed 10News the following statement:
"It has been our hope to have a permanent office and storage space that can accommodate the many people who work on the event each year and materials that need to be stored. While we have always said we would love to remain in San Diego there are always variables that need to be considered. A permanent office space does not necessarily have to be in the city where the event takes place. We have produced successful events in Anaheim, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose while maintaining offices in San Diego."
Right now, there are several tenants inside the three buildings.
There is no word on when or whether Comic-Con will move into the site.
