SAN DIEGO – An early morning main break left a College Area neighborhood without water for most of Tuesday.
A little before 5:13 a.m. a 12-inch concrete main broke in the 4700 block of 54th Street, the San Diego Public Utilities Department reports. The main was not shut off until just before 6 a.m.
Residents in the 4700 block of 54th were without water until 3:45 p.m. while city crews conducted repairs.
A water wagon was brought in to provide customers with water for drinking and cooking during the time it was shut off.
