(KGTV) - The world of fashion seems to be taking a page from airline companies these days.
Another unique pair of jeans is setting off the internet, this time from the British retailer Topshop. The retailer's "MOTO Clear Plastic Straight Leg Jeans" is priced at a clean $100. While it's out of stock (astonishingly), the product boasts a near perfect rating on the store's website (perhaps, even more astonishingly.)
Like many internet users, you're probably wondering "why?"
According to Topshop, the product is an attempt to, "think outside the box with these out-of-the-ordinary clear plastic jeans – guaranteed to get people talking."
The product description goes on to say the jeans, "feature classic pockets detailing and are cropped at the ankle bone. Ideal as a statement piece for a festival or costume party, take the look to the extreme with a bikini and sequin jacket or dress down, layered under an oversized jumper or asymmetric hem dress."
The product is "wipe clean only."

I'm going to wear the clear jeans from Topshop over the dirty jeans from Nordstrom pic.twitter.com/fqtKQpzdqU

I guarantee at least one person will put on a pair of clear jeans before realizing there's a reason that model was wearing shorts

#Topshop selling transparent jeans, #Nordstrom selling muddy jeans.... bit late with the novelty #coachella styles. #clearjeans #muddyjeans

The criticism comes on the heels that Nordstrom is selling a pair of jeans made to look muddy for $425. The jeans feature splotches of what the retailer calls "caked-on muddy coating," giving the look of being worn and dirty.
Nordstrom is also selling a muddy denim jacket for the same price - so you can accessorize, of course.
Nordstrom was also ripped for selling "mom jeans" featuring clear plastic knee panels for $95 a pair. Those jeans were also from Topshop.
