CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - The Chula Vista Police officer who was stabbed at a home Tuesday is recovering from stab wounds to his head and arm, the department said.
Officer David Sachs went to the home on Monterey Ave. to investigate a report of a man throwing concrete at his neighbor.
The man attacked Officer Sachs, who opened fire. Police said the man died on his way to the hospital.

Chula Vista Police said Officer Sachs has worked with the department for one and a half years and has previous law enforcement experience.
He is expected to make a full recovery.
The man who was shot has not been identified.
