Chula Vista little league on quest to become world champions

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- A Chula Vista little league is on a quest to become Little League World Champions.

The Park View all stars are preparing for the Western Regional Tournament, the last hurdle before the World Series.

The team is also moving forward without their manager who was suspended for violating a rule requiring every player to have at least one bat per game.

He told 10News it was an unintentional mistake, but his appeal was still denied. The team, however, is in capable hands with their coach, Jorge Camarillo, who led the team to the 2016 World Series.

"They're resilient, energetic and positive, and they play for one another,” Camarillo said. The first tournament will be held Sunday night at 7:30 on ESPN.
