SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A multi-car crash on the westbound side of SR-52 sent six people to the hospital Wednesday evening.
The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. on SR-52 near the 805 interchange in the Miramar area.
Brendon Lopez says he was rear-ended after the car behind him was struck by another car.
His car was damaged but he was uninjured. He got out and noticed people in the cars behind him.
“Once I got out of the car, I saw they needed the help. They were bloodied. Their car was crunched in,” said Lopez.
He and a few other people were able to help two of the crash victims out of their cars, but several others were stuck inside.
First responders were able to pull them out when they arrived.
Six people were transported to the hospital, three with traumatic injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
