(KGTV) - A Camp Pendleton Marine is facing murder charges in connection with the stabbing death of a fellow Marine earlier this year.
Pfc. Raymond Begay, 20, is accused in the January 16 death of 18-year-old Pfc. Ethan Barclay-Weberpal at the base’s School of Infantry.
Begay’s attorney told the court during a March preliminary hearing that Barclay-Weberpal’s death was the result of the two men engaged in horseplay involving a knife.

Two witnesses backed the claim made by Begay’s attorney.
Prosecutors, however, said at least three other Marines testified that Begay had previously threatened to stab fellow Marines. According to prosecutors, Begay allegedly washed blood off the knife after the incident.
