OTAY MESA (KGTV) -- An auto recycling yard fire spread to brush Friday night, prompting a heavy response from firefighters in the South Bay.
Firefighters had two helicopters and numerous engines battling the 1-acre fire near Otay Valley Road.
The fire was contained but fully out, according to firefighters. They told 10News they don't believe the fire will spread but were concerned about embers igniting nearby brush.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
