SAN DIEGO – A bomb squad was called out to the air freight area of Lindbergh Field Wednesday morning for a suspicious package that was found to be harmless.
The San Diego Fire-Rescue Metro Arson Strike Team (MAST) responded to the air freight area after a K-9 was alerted to something in the area sometime before 9:30 a.m. There were no evacuations or flight cancelations.
At around 11:30 a.m., officials confirmed the package was safe and posed no threat. There was no word on the nature of the items that prompted the issue. MAST crews cleared the scene.
