CARLSBAD, Calif. (KGTV) — The body of a grandfather who wandered away from a Vista home over the weekend has been found in a North County canyon.
A spokesperson for the family of Francisco Larios told 10News Larios' body was found on the Carlsbad/Oceanside border in the Calaveras Hills area Thursday night.
The family got the call at 4 a.m. Friday and they are currently making funeral arrangements, they tell 10News.
Larios, 83, was reported missing Sunday after he wandered away from his daughter's Vista home. Family and volunteers had been out in the sweltering heat since searching for him.
The grandfather had recently suffered a stroke and was on medication, however, his cause of death has yet to be released.
The San Diego Medical Examiner's Office also has yet to confirm Larios' death.
