CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - A two balloons caused chaos for residents in a Chula Vista neighborhood Monday after striking a power line.
Firefighters told 10News two Mylar balloons hit a power line near the intersection of D Street and 5th Avenue just after 3 p.m.
The balloons became tangled in the line, triggering a small explosion that caused a water line break under the street.
Sweet Water Authority says it will take about 6-7 hours once they can start work to fix this water main break. @10News pic.twitter.com/fhl2vL43km

A mother who lives in a home under the explosion said she saw a huge red fireball, grabbed her children and ran.
She said this isn't the first time a balloon caused an explosion. She told 10News that a similar explosion caused by party balloons happened last year.
San Diego Gas & Electric and Sweetwater Authority water crews worked for several hours to fix the flow of water running down the street. Several blocks were closed so crews could conduct repairs.
