At least one person was killed Saturday when a car with a woman and two children in it rolled over on a rural road that links San Diego to the Coachella Valley.
The crash was reported at 5:14 a.m. on Highway 371 near Breach Road in Aguanga and was reported as a fatal incident by the California Highway Patrol at 6:49 a.m.
Riverside County firefighters reported an infant and another child with serious injuries, while one woman sustained moderate injuries in the crash, said Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department.
The passengers were trapped and had to be cut out of the vehicle by nine firefighters before being taken to a hospital.
The CHP and the Riverside County coroner were working on the investigation.
Route 371 is a narrow, two-lane road that is often used as a shortcut linking the Coachella Valley with Temecula and North County.
