EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) - At least five people were injured Wednesday night after a three-vehicle crash on an El Cajon street.

The crash happened at the intersection of Greenfield Drive and East Main Street just before 11 p.m., according to witnesses and El Cajon police.

Police said a pickup truck rear-ended a red car that was stopped at a red light on eastbound Main Street. The red car was then pushed into the intersection, where it was hit by a white SUV.

A witness told 10News the impact sent the pickup truck into the air before it landed on its roof. One person was ejected from one of the vehicles involved.

The truck’s driver, the SUV driver and three people from the red car were all transported to the hospital. Emergency crews had to cut through the red car to remove a passenger who became trapped in the wreckage.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
