(KGTV) — ABC 10News Anchor Lindsey Pena was in North County Monday near some popular hiking trails in San Marcos.
The trails are a prime spot to encounter rattlesnakes, which can be out year-round, but have been spotted more often as temperatures rise.
One expert 10News spoke with also said recent rains could be contributing to the sightings.
