CARLSBAD -- A power outage today left more than 6,000 Carlsbad-area homes and businesses in the dark for several hours.
The outage struck for unknown reasons at 7:10 a.m. and knocked out electricity to 6,006 utility customers in Carlsbad and La Costa, according to San Diego Gas & Electric.
As of about 10:15 a.m., electricity had been restored to all but eight customers, according to the utility, which expected to have their service restored by 1:30 p.m.
