BLYTHE, Calif. (KGTV) - An actor who appeared in "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" could be released from prison by the end of the month, a state prison official told 10News.
Shelley Malil, behind bars for the past eight years for stabbing ex-girlfriend Kendra Beebe, was granted parole at a hearing in August.
“Why are we letting out this person who’s going to go back out and go back on the internet and date and possibly relapse and hurt somebody else,” Beebe told 10News after Malil was granted parole.

Malil was convicted in 2010 of stabbing Beebe 23 times during a jealous rage at her San Marcos home in 2008.
Beebe testified at Malil's trial and recalled the attack and how she escaped with her neighbors' help.
"I was holding my side ... he got me bad," Beebe said in 2010. "They started fighting. I thought, 'How am I gonna live? I can't fight.' The only thing I have left to survive is my voice. I can be loud I said, 'Chuck, Ali, call 911! He's killing me!'"

Malil was sentenced to serve 12 years to life.
At the parole hearing at Chuckawalla Valley State Prison in Blythe, the panel maintained Malil posed a low risk for committing violence in the future.
