TEMECULA, Calif.- (UPDATE) A brush fire nearly doubled in size overnight along Interstate 15 in Temecula. As of 8:30 a.m. Sunday, the fire is 139 acres and 30 percent contained. 370 firefighters are battling the blaze.
TEMECULA, Calif.- (UPDATE) A brush fire continued to burn along Interstate 15 in Temecula Saturday. As of 3:30 p.m. the fire grew to 35 acres. 370 firefighters are battling the blaze and it's 10 percent contained. The southbound I-15 is closed as well as the northbound number 4 lane.
TEMECULA, Calif. – A roaring brush fire was burning along the Interstate 15 freeway in Temecula Saturday.
According to the Riverside County Fire Department, the blaze broke out before 11:40 a.m. along southbound I-15 near Temecula Parkway. The fire quickly grew from 15 to 30 acres by 12:45 p.m. No structures were threatened.
About 200 personnel with Cal Fire and the Riverside County Fire Department were responding.
I-15 south was closed from Highway 79 to Rainbow Valley Boulevard. California Highway Patrol was running traffic through a single lane. I-15 northbound lanes remained open.
