SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A two-car collision on Interstate 5 early Tuesday morning led to one of the drivers chasing down passengers from the other vehicle.

The California Highway Patrol said a Toyota Camry and a silver car were traveling on southbound I-5 near Clairemont Drive at about 12:15 a.m. when they collided and overturned.

The silver car hit a pole and several plants before it landed upside down, sparking a small brush fire nearby. A man and two women from the silver car fled from the wreck, leaving a female passenger inside the car.

The Camry landed on its side, but the female driver got out of the car and began running after the three people from the silver car. She caught up to one of them and dragged her back to the crash scene.

Firefighters arrived to put out the fire, and the woman inside the silver car was safely removed. She and the other passenger dragged back to the scene were taken to the hospital with injuries of unknown severity.

The Camry's driver was evaluated at the scene but refused to be taken to the hospital.

CHP officers are trying to find the man and woman who fled the silver car.
