2 17-year-olds arrested in fatal Oceanside shooting

OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) - Two 17-year-olds were arrested in the shooting death of a man whose body was found in an empty lot earlier this month, police announced Monday.

Oceanside police said the two juveniles were taken into custody last Thursday in connection with the death of 25-year-old Erik Ramsey.

Just before 5:15 a.m. on April 11, Ramsey’s body was found in a lot near Dubuque and Mc Neil streets, near Joe Balderrama Park.

Police initially stated that the victim suffered injuries to his upper body, but it was revealed that Ramsey had been shot to death.

No other details were provided by police, who noted the case was still under investigation by the department’s Crimes of Violence Unit.
