SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Wednesday morning on the Interstate 15 ramp to westbound state Route 52 in the Kearny Mesa area.
Authorities told 10News the 61-year-old man somehow lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a guardrail before going down an embankment. The motorcyclist, who was thrown onto the roadway, was run over by a passing vehicle.
The motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene.

The emergency response prompted the following road closures during the morning commute:
-- Southbound I-15 ramp to westbound SR-52 (reopened at 8:29 a.m.)
-- Northbound SR-163 ramp to westbound SR-52 (reopened at 8:27 a.m.)
-- Kearny Villa Rd. onramp to SR-52 (reopened at 8:24 a.m.)
-- Westbound SR-52 offramp to Kearny Villa Rd. (reopened at 7 a.m.)
No other injuries or crashes in the area were reported.
