Megan Parry joined the ABC 10News team in 2014 as an esteemed meteorologist with a passion for delivering accurate weather forecasts and engaging with her community. With a career spanning over a decade, Megan's journey into meteorology began after earning her B.S. degree in Earth and Environmental Science from the University of California, Irvine.

Prior to her meteorological pursuits, she honed her skills as an Environmental Scientist for the California Environmental Protection Agency, demonstrating her commitment to environmental stewardship.

Driven by her lifelong fascination with weather phenomena, Megan pursued her dream of becoming a meteorologist, earning her Master of Science in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University.

During her time in Mississippi, Megan became an avid storm chaser, witnessing firsthand the formidable power of nature, including the devastating aftermath of the 2011 Joplin, Missouri, EF-5 tornado — the 7th deadliest tornado on record.

Megan's meteorological expertise and affable demeanor led her to Medford, Oregon, where she joined the ABC team at KDRV. There, she quickly ascended the ranks to become chief meteorologist, earning recognition as the second "Most Popular TV Personality of Southern Oregon."

Her dedication to delivering informative and engaging forecasts endeared her to viewers across the region.

Beyond her professional achievements, Megan is deeply committed to her community. Her love for animals shines through her volunteer work at the San Diego Humane Society, advocating for animal welfare including spearheading the creation of the ABC 10News Pet of the Week adoption segment.

Her zest for life is evident in her love for travel and she considers herself a self-proclaimed nacho connoisseur and will never turn down a good craft beer!

Megan now balances her career with motherhood, raising two beautiful daughters. As a devoted mom and expert meteorologist, Megan finds joy in forecasting her favorite weather phenomenon: microclimates.

An authority in climate science, Megan has spearheaded numerous climate change discussions, shedding light on crucial topics such as wildfires, atmospheric rivers, and sea-level rise. As she continues to deliver comprehensive coverage on weather forecasting and climate science, Megan remains dedicated to serving the public and keeping San Diegans informed and prepared.
