SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - As much as San Diegans love to gorge on San Diego County Fair's most...adventurous...eats, there are plenty who prefer to keep their diet clean.
Despite the fair's reputation for all things deep-fried, there are plenty of options for foodies. Fair organizers have put together a handy map showing which vendors offer healthy options.
A rejuvenation station near the O'Brien Gate entrance will also offer fresh fruit, salads, and juices.
SAN DIEGO COUNTY FAIR:
- San Diego County Fair: How much will it cost a family of four?
- Deals on fair admission, food, and rides for all ages
- Getting to and parking at the SD Fair
A special farm to table dinner being held on June 30 will feature courses prepared with ingredients from local farms. Tickets are available on the fair's website.
In addition to food available, families can learn about all the natural, fresh treats gown locally and how to grow them on their own. The Farm and CA Grown Exhibit will offer tips and ideas for backyards from experts and free daily agricultural panels.
EVERYTHING you can possibly need to know about the San Diego County Fair
Just to keep healthy habits at the forefront of fair-goers' minds, a 5K Fair Run will be held on June 16, giving runners a behind-the-scenes run/walk around the fair before it opens for the day.
