SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Stone Brewing announced this week the launch of a new beer brewed alongside the minds of legendary rock band Metallica.

Their creation, Enter Night Pilsner, rolled out in California last November, but embarks on its nationwide tour in the beginning of this year, then globally in the spring.

Stone described the beer as a traditional Northern German pilsner though combined with the familiar hoppiness fans of Stone's Arrogant Bastard Ale have come to love.

According to Stone Brewing, brewery co-founder Greg Koch and Metallica's Lars Ulrich even met on multiple occasions at Lars' home to discuss the beer, which the brewery admits is simply "industry-speak for 'drinking.'"

"The amount of ideals and outlooks that Metallica and Stone Brewing share are endless,” Ulrich said in a release. "Our view of the worlds that we each inhabit, of creativity and process, and sense of place in relation to our peers and ‘The Man’ are almost identical. This collaboration is beyond effortless and pure, and we can’t wait to share this incredible beverage with everyone out there."

The 5.7 percent ABV pilsner has already made a mark on Metallica fans, first appearing at the band's concerts last fall. The beer will be sold in 16 oz. six-pack cans and on draft, including at Stone's Liberty Station and Escondido tasting rooms.

Stone shared a behind-the-scenes video of their collaborative efforts with Metalica:
