SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Labor Day weekend is the unofficial end of summer and the end to some of the season’s top events in San Diego.
If the past few months went by too fast, we compiled a list of museums and attractions you should enjoy before Monday.
Can’t squeeze it all in? No problem! The fall will bring a new series of events and 10News will have you covered in our Exploring San Diego section.
DEL MAR RACING SEASON
The turf will keep meeting the surf long after the last hooves have raced around the track. Get your fill of the ponies through Monday. The final concerts include Slightly Stoopid on Saturday and Ice Cube on Sunday. And before you know it, the track will reopen for the Bing Crosby Season, November 9 - December 2.
BLUE STAR MUSEUMS
Active-duty military personnel and their families have had free admission to museums all summer long. The offer ends Monday.
SEAWORLD SAN DIEGO
The Sesame Street Party Parade, a colorful parade held every weekend of the summer, wraps up at SeaWorld Sunday. Also wrapping up at the park is the Electric Ocean nighttime celebration, which ends Monday.
SAN DIEGO ZOO
Visitors have been “rocking and roaring” at the Nighttime Zoo all summer. Monday is the last night to see acrobatic acts and African-themed entertainment.
PORT WATERFRONT SHUTTLE
This is the final weekend for the port’s convenient waterfront shuttle, connecting visitors between Shelter Island and downtown. Just $3 gets you on board.
MOVIES ON THE BEACH
The Hotel del Coronado holds its final movie on the beach Saturday night. You can have a VIP chair for $20 or buy the family s’mores package for $300. Enjoy The Wizard of Oz!
