SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Fleet Week San Diego cruises into town this month with events geared toward celebrating and thanking military men and women.
The week packs military displays and vehicles, ship tours, and hands-on experiences with military technology for the public. Many of the events will be held at the Broadway Pier and Port Pavilion.
The week begins with a military family tailgate on Oct. 20 before San Diego State Aztecs take on San Jose State and wraps up with a viewing party for the Navy and Notre Dame game on Oct. 27.

Fleet Week began as a way for San Diego to express support for the military and its contributions to the region. Eventually, it evolved into an array of public events, including a golf tournament, student STEM day, innovation zone, and more.
A portion of the week's proceeds goes toward charities that provide support for military families.
