SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – Whether you have a taste for delicious food or tunes, there's something for you to check out this weekend around San Diego.
San Diego's annual Taste of Downtown event returns, offering bites from some of the best restaurants around San Diego's Gaslamp District, East Village, and City Center.
Sorrento Valley will also hold a community-centered beer festival featuring some San Diegans favorite beers.

San Diego Bayfair will not only pack a water festival into Mission Bay Park, but also a state-sanctioned BBQ competition!
And for the musical at heart, Julian will hold it's 49th annual music festival while over in Balboa Park, a brass band takes the stage at the Veterans Museum.

THURSDAY
Where: Downtown San Diego; Cost: $35 - $40
Enjoy bites from more than 40 restaurants in the downtown area, from the Gaslamp District to East Village to City Center, during Taste of Downtown. Special prixe fix menu options will be available giving diners the chance to indulge without breaking the bank.
Where: The Veterans Museum at Balboa Park; Cost: $10 - $25
Westwind Brass performs a special concert at Balboa Park's Veterans Museum during their Brass in the Park concert series. This week, the band celebrates the "music of the Californias," a program reflecting the long and storied history of the Golden State.
FRIDAY
Where: Mission Bay Park; Cost: Free - $45
(Runs Friday - Sunday) Check out some of the world's fastest boats at San Diego Bay during Bayfair. Boat racing, beer gardens, a kids' zone, and a state-sanctioned BBQ championship!
Where: Party Pals; Cost: $10 - $40
Beer fans can try out some of the best brews from 20 local breweries in Sorrento Valley, with plenty of food trucks, live music, games, and more. Even better, 100 percent of proceeds go back to the community through the Sorrento Valley Town Council.
SATURDAY
25th annual OMBAC Classic Longboard Surfing Contest
Where: Pacific Beach; Cost: Free for spectators
Surfers will paddle out Saturday on classic longboards for a good ol' fashioned surf competition in PB. Chill on the beach as contestants hit the waves or grab your own board to compete.
49th Annual Julian Music Festival
Where: Menghini Winery; Cost: Free - $20
What started as a banjo and fiddle competition has blossomed after 40 years into the Julian Music Festival. Listen to tunes from a variety of genres including Americana, folk, jazz, and more!
SUNDAY
Where: Oceanside Harbor; Cost: Free
(Runs Saturday - Sunday) Enjoy two days in along the Oceanside shoreline with arts and crafts, food, a pirate village, and much more during Oceanside's Harbor Days. Make sure to come dressed in your best pirate g-AAARGH-b!
14th annual Old Town Art & Craft Show
Where: Old Town; Cost: Free
(Runs Saturday - Sunday) Explore fine art from more than 100 regional and international artists in Old Town, as well as plenty of delicious food, craft beer, and entertainment around town!
