SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- From classic holiday plays to festivities and wine tastings, the holiday season is officially underway in San Diego County.
The Old Globe Theatre kicks off the season with "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." The Gaslamp quarter is also getting ready for its annual Holiday Kick off and much more.

THURSDAY
Where: Oceanside Civic Center; Cost: $40 - $55
Searching for a way to work out before digging in? The Turkey Trot gives participants the opportunity to cruise along the streets of Oceanside with views of the ocean in the 5K, 10K, fun runs or Senior 1 mile run. The event kicks off at 6:45 a.m.
Where: Fallbrook Art Center; Cost: Free
The show offers an array of affordable, hand-crafted artful gifts perfect for holiday gift giving. The works are produced by 50 artists from all around the region and include jewelry, wearable art, accessories, functional and decorative wood, ceramics and more.
FRIDAY
Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Where: The Old Globe Theatre; Cost: $35 - $92
The traditional holiday show returns to the Old Globe Theatre on select dates through December 29.
Lions Tigers & Bears Turkey Bash
Where: Lions Tigers & Bears Cat Rescue; Cost: $26 - $46
The cat rescue is offering the opportunity to watch their big cats and bears enjoy their Thanksgiving feast. Proceeds benefit the rescued sanctuary animals and rescue work. Members get in for free, but must RSVP.
SATURDAY
Where: Downtown Encinitas; Cost: Free
Join Encinitas 101 Main Street Association and South Coast Highway 101's local murchants for the event. The event is the perfect time to get ahead on holiday shopping all while supporting local business.
New West Ballet: The Nutcracker
Where: Poway Center for the Performing Arts; Cost: $20 - $50
The traditional holiday ballet comes to Poway this November. The production has a mix of youth, adult and professional dancers.
Where: Gaslamp Quarter; Cost: Free
The event offers those who attend the chance to step into a winter wonderland with a San Diego twist. Enjoy caroling, food and drinks, live entertainment, gift giving goodies and more.
SUNDAY
Where: Hilton San Diego Bayfront; Cost: $15 - $20
Holiday by the Bay features a two-story ice tubing slide, ice bumper cars, nightly snow fluries and a 30-foot tall Christmas tree as well as food, holiday cocktails and gingerbread decorating.
Where: Rancho Guejito Vineyard; Cost: Free - $15
The vineyard will be doing a wine tasting and a hayride through the vineyards and groves of the historic ranch. The vineyard is locates three miles east of San Diego Zoo's Safari Park.
Where: PowPAC; Cost: $20 - $22
