SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Hopefully May Gray kicks the bucket this weekend because there's plenty to get out and do around San Diego!

The San Diego County Fair is back in action this weekend. The county fair runs until July 4, giving families plenty of time to see all the sights, hear all the sounds, and take in all the delicious smells at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Full fair info.

San Diego's favorite dash returns during the Rock N' Roll marathon at Balboa Park. Stages placed along the race route provide some extra motivation for runners and anyone is welcome to line the route and cheer. Marathon traffic info.

Art Around Adams brings the ABCs (art, bands, and craft beer) to Adams Avenue for a 2-mile celebration along the historic street.

THURSDAY

Les Misérables

Where: San Diego Civic Theatre; Cost: $45 - $95

(Thursday to Sunday) The Tony Award-winning musical Les Misérables makes its way to San Diego straight from its return to Broadway. Fans of the book, movie, or show won't want to miss the epic tale featuring beloved songs such as “I Dreamed A Dream,” “On My Own,” “Stars,” “Bring Him Home,” and “One Day More.”

 

Ryan Hamilton

Where: American Comedy Co.; Cost: $8 - $9

(Thursday to Saturday) Comedian Ryan Hamilton comes to San Diego on the heels of his first stand-up special on Netflix, "Happy Face." The observational comic has been named one of Rolling Stone's "five comics to watch," bringing his unique perspective to the stage.


FRIDAY

San Diego County Fair

Where: Del Mar Fairgrounds; Cost: Free - $19

(Friday to Sunday) The San Diego County Fair returns this weekend, packing all the magic of the annual fairgrounds celebration into a month-long event. Check out the food, animals, rides and games, and concerts at Del Mar this month.

 

Mainly Mozart Festival

Where: Various locations; Cost: Ticket prices vary

(Friday to Sunday) Until June 24, Mainly Mozart Festival will host world-class artists in venues around the county as they perform musical works capturing Mozart and other western music pioneers. The festival will feature concerts, educational programs, and special presentations. 


SATURDAY

Beer hike with San Diego Natural Historycanyoneers

Where: Various locations; Cost: Free

(Saturday to Sunday) Canyoneers from the San Diego Natural History Museum will lead two hikes this weekend at San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve (Saturday at Rios Ave. trailhead at 9 a.m.) and  Famosa Slough (Sunday at Famosa Blvd. trailhead at 9 a.m.) in search of pickleweed! Groups will then head to the closest Pizza Port Brewing location where they can try the brewery's Pickleweed Point IPA. Pizza Port is donating a portion of sales to the museum's canyoneers program.

 

Art Around Adams

Where: Adams Avenue District; Cost: Free

Two miles of Adams Avenue will be covered in craft beer, live music, food, and art during the Art Around Adams event. The free art walk brings artist and performers to Adams Avenue for a scene and relaxed stroll along one of San Diego's more historic streets.


SUNDAY

Rock n' Roll Marathon

Where: Balboa Park; Cost: $75 - $199

(Saturday to Sunday) Rock n' Roll San Diego is back at Balboa Park this weekend, hosting runners from around the area and country during a two-day series. The main event, the half and full marathon, go down on Sunday morning. If you want to run, on-site registration is open on a first come, first served basis.

 

RB Alive Expo

Where: Rancho Bernardo; Cost: Free

Rancho Bernardo holds its 30th annual street fair this weekend, bringing out more than 300 vendors, tasty foods, activities and games, a classic car show, and performances by the local cultural center.
