SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — With winter upon San Diego, all it takes is for the temperature to dip below 65 degrees for locals to search for a fireplace wherever they go to eat or drink.
And because we deal with nearly perfect weather most of the year, there usually isn't a need for fireplaces at bars — usually.
Though sometimes, it's nice to find some solace from the packed, loud bar scene.

There are a handful of bars around San Diego where fireplaces or fire pits make the perfect date night center piece or casual hangout spot:
Raised by Wolves: The La Jolla speakeasy may look like a liquor store from the outside, but a fireplace transports guests though a secret passageway and into a bar in the back. Another fireplace — that doesn't move, so don't try it — offers seating to enjoy the sleek speakeasy atmosphere.
Level 9 Rooftop Bar: Take in the views of the Gaslamp District for a picture-perfect night out atop Hotel Indigo. Relax with a cocktail or beer high atop the city near the bar's fire pit!
Ballast Point Miramar: Ballast Point Miramar's massive brewery includes an outside patio with a community fire pit, perfect for date nights or hangouts with groups of friends to gather around and enjoy a pint.
Soda & Swine: Inside Soda & Swine's North Park stop sits a cozy fireplace at the back end of the eatery. Enjoy some delicious soda or a pint and some of Soda & Swine's housemade meatballs near a fire.
