(KGTV) — California Adventure's upcoming "Avengers Campus" will see two new attractions that toss guests into their own Marvel-themed adventure.
One of those rides will require "an all-new ride system," according to Disney Imagineering’s Scot Drake. The attraction welcomes recruits aboard a Quinjet, sending them to Black Panther's world of Wakanda alongside other Avengers heroes.
"We’re inventing an all-new ride system for this," Drake told the crowd at a New York Comic Con 2019 panel. "The demands of these characters and this experience is forcing us to invent and we’re really excited about that. It’s going to be something like you’ve never seen before."

The ride will use a different flight simulator than other Disney attractions like Soarin' Around the World and Disney’s Animal Kingdom's Avatar Flight of Passage ride, Drake added.
"We’re going to transform from this group experience to this individual flight," Drake continued. "This is going to be the basis of our own origin story. We’re going to build back up and get to fight alongside with all the Avengers in this epic battle in Wakanda."
The attraction is set to debut sometime during a "Phase Two" expansion, while the land itself is aiming for a 2020 opening.
"Avengers Campus" replaces the parks' former "A Bug's Life" area next to the "Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: Breakout!" tower attraction.
The park has already revealed a Spider-Man attraction where guests will web-sling like their favorite wall crawler, an Ant-Man themed restaurant, and life shows featuring Doctor Strange, Black Widow, Iron Man, Captain America, and Black Panther around the park.
