SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The CEO of Kaiser Permanente unexpectedly died Sunday morning, the company announced.
The company reported that Bernard J. Tyson died in his sleep early Sunday morning. His age wasn't disclosed in the news release.
Due to the death, the company’s board of directors named Gregory A. Adams, Executive Vice President and Group President, as interim Chairman and CEO.

“Bernard was an exceptional colleague, a passionate leader, and an honorable man. We will greatly miss him,” said board member Edward Pei.
