Fans of "The Karate Kid" movie from 1984 will surely remember the intense feud between Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence that seemingly ended when -- spoiler alert, just in case -- Daniel defeated Johnny for the All-Valley Karate Tournament title.

Now, Daniel and Johnny are set to butt heads or trade punches once again, this time on a smaller screen.

YouTube announced Friday that a 10-episode, 30-minute series tentatively titled "Cobra Kai" will premiere on its subscription platform, YouTube Red, sometime in 2018. Ralph Macchio is returning to reprise his role as Daniel, while William Zabka will be back as Johnny, YouTube said.

According to Variety, the new series "picks up thirty years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament. A down-and-out Johnny Lawrence (Zabka) seeks redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai karate dojo, reigniting his rivalry with a now successful Daniel LaRusso (Macchio), who has been struggling to maintain balance in his life without the guidance of his mentor, Mr. Miyagi."

Pat Morita, who played Mr. Miyagi in the "Karate Kid" films, died in 2005 at the age of 73.

In a press release, the show's executive producers said: "'Cobra Kai' will be a true continuation of the original films -- packed with comedy, heart, and thrilling fight scenes."

In case you're wondering, there's no immediate word on if Elisabeth "Ali Mills" Shue -- the object of Daniel and Johnny's affection -- will appear in the series.
