(KGTV) - While fans must left wait until December for their look at Star Wars: The Last Jedi, new images are giving them something to hold on to for now.
New images released by Entertainment Weekly gave a special peek at the next installment of the Star Wars franchise, showing the return of Daisy Ridley’s character Rey, John Boyega's Finn, Oscar Isaac's Poe Dameron, and more.

The images also give fans a glimpse at a few new characters. EW's release gave us our first look at alien "caretakers" from the island where fans last saw Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Praetorian Guards protecting actor Andy Serkis' Supreme Leader Snoke, and something called a "Porg" - which seems to have already won over the hearts of fans.

Hamill tells EW that when Rey and Luke meet, his character is a broken man.
"When I first read it, my jaw dropped," Hamill said. "What would make someone that alienated from his original convictions? That’s not something that you can just make up in an afternoon, and I really struggled with this thing."
