Rock star Ozzy Osbourne has been hospitalized after complications from influenza, his wife Sharon Osbourne said on Twitter Wednesday.
"As some of you may have heard, Ozzy was admitted to the hospital after complications with influenza," Sharon Osbourne wrote. "His doctors felt that this is the best way to put him on a faster path to recovery. Thank you all for your concern and your love."
Ozzy Osbourne, 70, suspended a European tour scheduled for the first few months of 2019, according to a statement on its official website. The suspension of the tour was by "orders of doctors."
"Osbourne has been diagnosed with a severe infection in the upper respiratory system that the doctor believes could turn into pneumonia given the physical nature of the live performances and an extensive travel program in Europe in extreme winter conditions," the Jan. 29 post on his website read.
