(KGTV) — Only a select number of Oscar nominees will leave the awards Sunday with a golden statue in hand, but every nominee is leaving a winner — and thousands of dollars richer, in a way.
Select nominees get the unofficial swag bags, provided by Los Angeles-based marketing firm Distinctive Assets, every year, packed with lavish gifts and experiences as part of the firm's "everyone wins" promotion.
For 2020, the bag features ritzy gifts like a gold Hollowtips vape pen, a 12-day cruise, a Soma smart bra, resort stays, expensive spirits, jewelry, and enough health and beauty products to stock a neighborhood. In total, the bags' contents are estimated to be worth about $225,000, according to Forbes. Even a certificate for the exclusive Golden Door Spa located in San Marcos is included.
"While this gift bag does always have an impressive value, that is never our goal," Distinctive Assets founder Lash Fary said in a statement. "While we no longer release an official valuation, this year's gift bag is one of the best we have ever assembled."
Those nominated in the Best Actor/Actress, Best Supporting Actor/Actress and Best Director categories receive the bags in advance of the show. Nominees have the option not to accept the bags.
