SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The dream for many local bands and musicians is to make it to the big time on a stage in front of thousands of fans.
KAABOO Del Mar is giving two lucky local acts that chance with its Discovery Tour, promising to put them in the mix with this year's lineup of Kings of Leon, Duran Duran, and others.
Fans can vote for their favorites among 12 finalists online through Aug. 4. Six of those finalists will perform downtown at Quartyard on Aug. 16, where a panel of judges will choose the winners.
The 12 finalists are (click the band to see their bio):

One band hopes to give KAABOO attendees a heaping dose of rock n' roll.
Desert Sun's Ronald "Woogie" Maggard said the band has battled through some obstacles but is ready to give it their all.
"We have been working hard for years to make something happen with this band. We have had some big set backs and pretty big obstacles to tackle. Being considered is an honor and we are excited to share our passion with a broader audience and hopefully make some new friends," Maggard said.
