LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Actor Verne Troyer's death has been ruled a suicide, coroner's officials said Wednesday.
Troyer died April 21 in Van Nuys at age 49, almost three weeks after he was found unresponsive in his North Hollywood home.
He was best known for playing Mini-Me in the Austin Powers film series. He was less than 3 feet tall because of cartilage-hair hypoplasia, which made him one of the shortest men in the world.
"On April 22, an autopsy was performed on Troyer and a cause of death was deferred pending further investigation. It was later determined Troyer died from sequelae of alcohol intoxication. The manner of death was certified as a suicide," according to the official report from the Los Angeles County coroner's office.
