PARTNERING WITH LITERACY CHAMPIONS
In partnership with the San Diego Council on Literacy and North Island Credit Union, with support of the San Diego County Office of Education students in Title 1 schools across the county are receiving new books of their very own.
THE POWER OF CHOICE
Each month a San Diego County elementary school with grades K through 3rd is preselected to have a mini-book fair for their classroom. Students will be able to pick out their own books, which is a crucial step in empowering young readers—98% of students will read books that they choose!
PROVIDING ACCESS TO QUALITY READING MATERIALS
A carefully curated selection of age, grade level and culturally appropriate titles will be made available for students to select from. Additionally, students will receive special backpack from North Island Credit Union to make carrying and storing these books simple.
