CARLSBAD, Calif. - A paddle boarder found a dead woman floating in Agua Hedionda Lagoon in Carlsbad Wednesday morning.
The discovery in a section of the estuary near the 4200 block of Harrison Street in Carlsbad was reported shortly after 9 a.m., according to police.
Fire department personnel arrived at the scene and retrieved the body of 50-year-old Carlsbad resident Gwen DeValliere. The woman's cause of death was not immediately clear, Lt. Greg White said.
