LA JOLLA, Calif. (KGTV) - A ride on this skateboard turned ugly on Thursday morning, as Erik Nunn was riding to work in La Jolla.
Nunn, who owns an IT business, was on Coast Blvd. headed to this office when it happened.
Because of angle of the hill, he said he never saw the giant pothole near a crosswalk. He flew 15 feet and was knocked unconscious.
Among his injuries: a gash to his head, requiring eight staples, and a concussion.
Along with the pain, he vented some pothole frustrations.
"Potholes this big should not be allowed to stick around," said Nunn.

In the past few months, the city has settled with several cyclists who claimed they suffered serious injuries because of uneven pavement and potholes, to the tune of more than 5 million dollars.
"I get calls weekly from potential clients who have injured themselves or their property because of potholes," says lawyer Evan Walker.
