SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – San Diego Police Detectives are investigating the homicide of a woman at a Mission Valley office building and the apparent suicide of her daughter at a building nearby.

Police were called to the offices on Camino del Rio South at 1:25 p.m. Saturday afternoon.  The medical examiner determined a 66-year-old woman died of a single gunshot wound.

The woman’s family members, including her 34-year-old daughter, arrived at the scene in the following hours.

Police said the daughter of the dead woman went to a nearby building at 3:50 p.m.  Detectives believe the daughter shot herself in a bathroom.

Investigators told 10News they don’t believe the daughter is a suspect in her mother’s death.  Her suicide may be a case of stress over finding out that her mother was dead, said police.
