San Diego Pride braces for possible protest

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) --  Days before San Diego Pride, police are bracing for a possible protest, after pride celebrations were stopped or re-routed in many cities over the last month.

In New York, Minneapolis, Columbus, Seattle and Washington D.C., activists met parade-goers, carrying signs declaring “No Justice No Pride” and “Black Lives Matter.”

Demonstrators say that among the issues, pride events are not inclusive to minorities and are too influenced by corporations. Some parades were stopped, interrupted and some demonstrators were arrested.

San Diego Police say they are aware of the situation and are prepared to handle anything that might arise. Officers will let people protest, but if things get out of hand,  they are prepared to handle it.
