San Diego father to be deported despite petition to keep him in U.S.

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A father and husband may be deported to Mexico today, despite an online petition to let him stay in the U.S.

Gaston Casarez was caught trying to enter the U.S. without documentation in 1998. That put him on the list for expedited deportation, if he should return.

He eventually came back to the U.S. and started a family. An immigration raid at his workplace in 2011 got him in trouble again. He received a waiver since he had two children, including one with autism.

22,000 people signed a petition to allow Casarez to stay in the U.S.
