SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A new San Diego based company is making marijuana infused coffee, tea and cocoa pods that are biodegradable. Brew Budz has already launched in Nevada and will soon be launching here in California.
Makers say they saw a need for a product that appealed to a more mature customer. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention reports that marijuana use among people over the age of 40 has increased dramatically in recent years.
Other local companies doing it include B-edibles, which makes cannabis infused sugar cubes and cotton candy. Senorita Sensi puts a mary jane twist on Mexican favorites like quesadillas and tamales.
Brew Budz says the bottom line is people want to be able to use marijuana in ways that fit in with their lifestyle and are discreet.
Despite the passage of Prop 64 last year many local cities are still trying to ban marijuana and products containing it. It remains to be seen how available these items will be as legalization is further implemented.
